Here
we are, in the midst of the holidays.
Less time to accomplish what you wish to accomplish, too many errands to
run, the weather is colder, days are shorter, and frankly, there is no time to
do all the things on the ‘to do’ list.
As women, one of the first things
to be pushed aside is the five or ten minutes it takes to maintain the skin on
our face. Whether the excuse be that
you were too exhausted to remove your make up prior to going to bed, or that you
simply didn’t think to cleanse your skin in the morning and add fresh
moisturizer, the end result is the same…dull skin.
Looking at
women’s facial skin all day long it is easy to tell that most women
ignore a very important step in skin maintenance. Masking.
That dull, lifeless, clogged pore skin needs help.
Whether you suffer from below the skin
acne, whiteheads in various areas such as the curves in your nose or under your
bottom lip, dull skin, or small blackheads, the easiest way to begin your
journey into more beautiful skin is to make a decision to cleanse, then mask.
Of course you must remember the astringent or toner, and then the final
step is moisturizing.
On the subject of masking, depending on your
skin’s condition, masking should take place at least once a week.
For more oilier skin, up to three times per week.
The kind of mask I recommend is the type that you smooth on your face
avoiding the eye area, and allowing to dry.
The thin layer you apply should take approximately 20 minutes for
complete drying time. Once dry, you
simply remove it with warm water. There
are various brands on the market that make lovely masks.
You will feel the difference almost immediately.
Notice the difference in your skin’s appearance in approximately three
to six weeks.
If you’ve not been in the habit of
masking your facial skin, there is a slight possibility it will cause an
increase in breakouts before it stabilizes.
This is normal. Why?
Because you’ve taken a step to bring out all the impurities in your
skin for the first time, and those blemishes have to come out before your skin
can show it’s new and improved self. Just
grit your teeth and allow the blemish time to pass, and the end result will be
rewarding. Be careful that you are
not breaking out due to skin allergies of the mask brand you are using, and of
course, make certain you are not causing skin irritation.
A mild mask should do the trick.
All skin types are not the same, so after
rinsing off your mask, be sure you are using a toner and moisturizer appropriate
for your particular type.
Make-up looks much better when applied to a clean, taught, smooth and well taken
care of canvas, and that is exactly what the skin on your face is.
Canvas. You’ll notice how
much lovelier your foundation glides on your face after taking care of it the
right way, and applying your moisturizer. Your
face should have a clean, smooth, shiny glow.
Of course if you desire a matte finish, power can be applied.
For the women that are not familiar with
spending those few extra minutes on themselves, it may seem like they are taking
undeserving time to accomplish these few simple steps.
The end result will be extremely rewarding.
Take time to take care of yourself. Allow
yourself to be beautiful. You’ll
be glad you did.
Isn’t
it time you made a decision to take care of YOU?
Happy
Holidays and enjoy this precious time with family and friends.
